Fishtown shadfest highlights rich cultural legacy
Fishtown has a rich history and those who have been there believe it will have a rich future as well. Fishtown is one of Philadelphia's oldest riverfront neighborhoods and is also now home to a new generation of restaurants and younger residents. Shad fishing may no longer be the booming industry in the neighborhood, but as a community, Fishtown still works to preserve its history. By combining food, music and vendors, Fishtown celebrated this fusion of new and old at the 2nd annual Shadfest.
