No generation gap

Have you ever sat around thinking about what generations you belong to in your family? Are you third generation American? Second generation to go to college? Meghan and Brigid Smith—a sophomore and junior, respectively—are fifth generation Lasallians, and the odds are likely that their family has been at La Salle longer than a lot of other students’ families have been in the United States.

Historic La Salle: Restoring an athletic tradition

Although this feature of the Collegian is typically concerned with events in La Salle’s history that have pertinent influence in recent news, this week’s edition of Historic La Salle addresses a topic that is slightly different. Steve McGonigle, a 1972 graduate of the university, is working tirelessly to ensure that a slice of this institution’s history will remain available for future Explorers.

Security guard finds inspiration in daily encounters

La Salle security guard, Nicetown resident and university student Adewale Ige has another addition to his resume: a long standing, award-winning passion for poetry.  Adewale has been writing poetry since 2007 and has won every poetry contest he has entered at Philadelphia Community College
